White Hair

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in , ,
According to my friend, Aneela, a person who has a white hair is immensely loved by someone. I've got 2 :P But I don't believe in her myth. Hehe. These white hair bug me a lot. They aren't actually white, but very prominently silver :/ My Momma says that this is the result of the hair dye I once applied 3 years ago :) But I argued that the roots of these hair are silver, and tips are black-brown. She thought of another reason. She said because I use conditioner very often, that's why I'm having white hair :/ I can't live without conditioning my hair after shampoo. I just can't stand dry/oily hair. I admit I've got the worst type of hair - a lil oily, a lil wavy, thin, and uljhay huay (see the picture) - but I want to do everything to make them look fresh, healthy, shiny, straight, and LONG!

You might want to know what have I applied on my hair up till now. Read it all here and here. Earlier I got very worried, but then I noticed many people in my university (yeah, I actually looked at their heads for a long time) :P. I found out that a course mate of mine has got too many white hair. Saw two guys having very few black hair, and so on. This thing has become very common nowadays. So, can you please help and tell me what causes white hair to shoot up from our heads? :/

Dinky Mind is very worried and confused (and is losing hair at the speed of candle light) :(

Big Foot :p

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Monday, February 16, 2009 in
Lol. The title reminds me of a game where the Monster Truck was named as "Big Foot" :) Anyway, back to the point. I've got a big, sore foot. Last night, while running towards my room, the sofa came in the way, and my foot crashed in it. It was like a Tom & Jerry scene. I was laughing and screaming at the same time. :D It was funny the way I crashed. My lil finger got a bad shove :D

The whole night I couldn't sleep. My tiny finger was having intense pain, and I couldn't even get up, walk and get Iodex to rub on it. I didn't even want to. I don't give much attention to such lil pains and bruises, until they become a major problem for me :P Anyway, I woke up late in the morning. Got dressed quickly and didn't notice the condition of my finger. It was hard to drive - shifting foot from accelerator to break and vice versa. In the uni, I was walking like an amputated person (Taubah). It was again hard for me to climb/ walk down the stairs. So, I got home early today and rubbed quarter bottle of Iodex on my half, blue foot. :( Now it's all bandaged and still hurting :( Let's see when do I get to see my normal foot again :D

Prayers needed.

Cheerio folks =)

Red Day :p

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Saturday, February 14, 2009 in ,
Biya and I today went to buy a gift for .... :P We went to this nearest mall, which we call Maila Mall. And gosh, it was all red - red Nokia balloons, red decorated doors, heart-shaped everything. And the place was full of so many cheapingey (ultra cheap) people, who were also dressed in red and in such bright, cheekhtay huay shades of red! Damn!

When we entered the place, we realized we came on the wrong day. And then how awful one feel when they see couples wearing red and holding hands (Yeah, I'm so jealous of them) :P OMG, you won't believe what kind of people, especially girls, I saw today. At leat I couldn't believe my eyes. Girls (3 of them) hardly 13-15 years old were dressed in vibrant red dresses and were searching for their "someone". Haha. I mean that's sad, for sure, but all of such "Item bombs" were making me crack up every now and then :D Plus I saw a bunch of some 7-8 women, of varying ages, all dressed in red, and all fat! And majority of them were wearing capris. Ewww...capris on black, elephant-like legs. Yuck!!! Imagine those pastry faces with red glosses and red, shiny, long earrings. My sis said these do not seem to belong to good families. And that seemed true, when I tried to scrutinize their faces. *sigh* Aaj ka zamana. And to be honest, every girl that I saw in the mall did not seem to belong to a good family. Faces say it all!

Enjoy :P

Feverish

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Friday, February 13, 2009 in
I'm feeling so down. :( And a lil feverish. I detest this feeling. Right now I'm feeling so cold, I'm wearing a woolen sweater and woolen socks :/ And wearing all these sweaters make me feel so irritated. Hah! I miss you, sweet Summers :(

Anyway, prayers needed. I need to get out of this feeling and I have to keep reminding myself to take medicines. Yep, I always, ALWAYS forget to take medicines. *sigh* Rusted Dinky Mind :(

Have to go to a dinner tomorrow :P *flutters eyelashes* ;) So I needa get well real soon!!!

Cheerio folks =)

PS: I think I'm 50% fine now :D

A new Bomb!

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in
I was teaching Bushi today and was helping him solve Urdu questions. The question goes like this.

Me: Oye! What is this "Item bomb"? :D

Bushi: It's like hand granade and all.

Me: Oh, you mean Atom Bomb? :P

Bushi: Jes, jes, Item Bomb :D

An eventful Sunday :)

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Sunday, February 08, 2009 in , ,
I had been waiting for spring for so long, and why? Because I wanted to go to Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim and spend some time with the beauty of nature. I love flowers. I love sea. So this time of the year, we decided to go to the Bagh on this Sunday. Plus, I love going to that place in the morning, around or after 7 am when it is closed :P And then we beg the guards to let us in for a few minutes :P Ah, silly we! :D I like the place when there's no one there - all MINE! I like reading the foundation stones. I like sitting there for a long time alone and talking to the grass, the trees. I like caressing the flowers and wishing them a happy morning and a bright new day :) I like the way sun rises, and how the sun rays illuminate every nook and corner. Ahhh! So damn refreshing!

Anyway, we went to the Bagh today around 7:05 am, took loadsa pictures, had a lot of fun. Then we went to Mc Donalds. I really love the Sea View wala Mc Donalds. There's this place with benches which face the sea, and it is so refreshing to sit there even if it is a bright sunny day (see the picture). A few Mc employees were cleaning the place when we went there. There's a skating area nearby, so I took out my roller skates and had a real fun time over there :D We also had the muffins I baked last night (around 1 am) :$ Ummi played with the crows and it was fun watching him trying his best to feed the crows some french fries :D Also met Bukhari Sahab of Bukhari Travels there with his 2 cutie grand daughters. He once came to our class and gave a very inspirational lecture.

When we left that place, we went to NORE-1. Yep, the place where I've spent 10 golden years of my childhood :) We went to the sea side. Took pictures of the gang way, pantoon, the sea, reflection and the boats :) Awww, I miss that place so much. There was this bouncing castle for kids in the park, and few rides for 2-3 olders. Bushi, Aashoo and Ummi went in to the castle and kept bouncing. And then I stepped in too :$ [Don't look at me like that :$ I know I won't ever grow up] *sighs*

Anyway, we then went for halwa puri at the famous Fresco. And returned home around 11 am :) Slept around 12:30 pm for an hour and a half, and then went to Mamoo's place for lunch. Yep, ultra Mutallo I'm getting, I know that. :/ Returned home around 7 pm or so, and then went to the parlour to get my eyeborws shaped up. Now that's what you call "university ki tayyari" :P Tomorrow would be the first day of my last semester. I'm gonna miss my uni :(

Okay, enough stories for today. My eyes are closing now.

*yawns* See ya tomorrow.

Cheerio folks =)

PS: I would like to thank our diligent City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal for making and mainting this place so well and so beautifully. I got to know from the guards that he and Governor Sindh visit the Bagh almost twice a week and keep a check on the funtionality and beauty of it. I salute you for that! :) May you live long and continue making the city so beautiful. And I hope we all, the proud citizens, make it our priority to keep our city clean and green :)

PPS: Saw this "Shree Ratneswar Mahadev Temple" closely today. And was able to take two pictures quickly. I just love the wooden door. It's right next to the Bagh's entrance. Well, no, it is in the Bagh's limits and well maintained :)

Kastoori Milk

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Friday, February 06, 2009 in ,
I stopped drinking milk when I ran out of Ovaltine. My worried Momma gave me yet another new idea today. [She really thinks of a million different ways to make me drink milk]. She said I should drink Kasturi Milk from now on. Since I love almonds like anything, she said that I should try making it. Take a mug of milk, heat it up, add sugar, chopped almonds, chopped pistachios, chopped cashewnuts, 2-3 threads of saffron. Mix well. And gulp it! :P I added an extra thing to my recipe: 6-7 rose petals fresh from our lawn =) And that milk tasted sooo well! Ahhhh, Je l'aime. Do try it.

Too bad I didn't take a picture of it, and can't even find a proper one on Google Images :(

And hey, I made pizza and my trademark salad yesterday. The topping was so so scrumptious. :D Yumm, yumm, yumm. :P

Yep, our pizza pan is a huge one! It's actually designed for Burekh - a Turkish dish (which I love THE most) :D

Awight, enough for today.

Cheerio folks =)

الف سے انار

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Wednesday, February 04, 2009 in , ,
I remember when I was a tiny toon I was taught الف سے انار and ب سے بلی. Gradually I started learning ُپ سے پنکھا and so on. One day Momma and I almost fought when it came to ڑ سے پہاڑ. I argued that پہاڑ started with a ُپ and not ڑ. She presented her logic that there isn't a single word that starts with a ڑ, and therefore we have پہاڑ and جھاڑو . I didn't want to accept this logic.

Me: ڑ سے پہاڑ - یھ کیا بات ھوئی؟
Momma: یھی بات ھوئی
Me: دنیا کا کون سا پہاڑ ‘ڑ‘ سے شروع ھوتا ھے؟
Momma: !!اُف خدایا
Me: That's not fair.
Momma: But that's how it is.
Me:okay, but جھاڑو should start with a ڑ
Momma: It can't.
Me: Why not? ڑ جھاڑو
:)
Momma: *slaps her forehead*

That's how I used to be and still am - !!! دماغ کا درد

:D

Cheerio folks =)

PS: My result's here. Got 2 As and 4 B+. Makes it 3.67 GPA. And a CGPA stuck at 3.57 :/
Grades are:

Comparative Management - B+
Total Quality Management - A
Development Economics - B+
Analysis of Financial Statements - A
Investment and Security Analysis - B+
Portfolio Management - B+

I was expecting an A in ISA :( And was expecting an F in PM *shudders*. Yes, PM is that course which I took on my own accord. And I performed so awful in it. Taubah! Still got a B+ which is a miracle. Thankoo Sir Kaleem :)

Meet my pet =)

Posted by Umema Siddiqi on Sunday, February 01, 2009 in ,

Name: Bug Bebe.
Alias: Bugaboo.
Age: Not to be disclosed.
Gender: Must be a female as it is berry cute ;)
Residence: Tulsi plant.
Favorite Quote: Bug off! :P
Contact me at: bugmenot@bugsland.com

I found this cutie pie in our lawn one day. I hope I don't have to reiterate how happy I am on having this lawn. We have grown roses - loads of them, vegetables - potatoes (my eternal supply of french fries), sarsoun (ka saag?), methi, oranges, coriander, mint, and that's it I guess! :D We're planning to plant a lot of other veggies and fruits. Thanks to Tahira Khala for sending me so many packs of seeds =)

I found this bug on our Tulsi plant, and it was looking sho cutie, I just couldn't resist taking her pictures :) It's shell was so shiny, it looked very... cute :D I like miniature things :) Mind you, it's things I'm talking about, and not people :P

Check out these ones. Awww... Sho pwetty, no? :D

So how do you find my cutie buggy and her rainbow family? =)
