So much for so few hair

Posted by Dinky Mind on Monday, April 28, 2008 in
I have always been very concious about my hair. There was once a time when I would first oil my hair and then shampoo them. And that was like 2 years ago?! Then I went to Saudia and when I returned, my hair started falling faster than a house of cards! [Too much exaggeration, I know, but the situation was so much like that]. Over there, I wouldn't get time (and oil) to oil my hair. And my hair started becoming a perfect 'jharoo'!

Anyways, after consulting a tragazillion people, and listening to their 'mufeed totkas', I decided to try something new. Just to mention a few, I have already tried eggs, yogurt, honey, butter, lemon, vinegar, and a million types of hair oil, including 'kalonji ka tayl', 'sarsoun', coconut oil (and no, not 'tara meera') :P So now you can imagine what a mess my hair used to look like with all those sticky, smelly stuff!

But now, I've made a different recipe for my hair. I used Olive oil, added some aloe vera in it, and a few drops of lemon, mixed it well, and applied the paste on my hair. Voila! My head had become a salad bowl! :s If I had those curly maggie-noodle-type hair, my head would have looked like the perfect salad bowl. *sigh* [Is it gross?] :P

I think my hair have become a little better. Not exactly like those shown in Dove's ad. But I believe, if I continue oiling them regularly (and minimizing the use of hair dryer) some day they will look like those in the ad, InshAllah. =)

CHeerio folks =)

Stupid Things

Posted by Dinky Mind on Friday, April 25, 2008 in ,
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time…. I know where my watch is pal, where is yours?
2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3. When people say “Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too”. What good is cake if you can’t eat it?

4. When people say “it’s always the last place you look”. Of course it is. Why would you keep looking after you’ve found it? Do people do this?

5. When people say, while watching a film, “Did you see that?”. No, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the floor.

6. People who ask “Can I ask you a question?”…. Didn’t really give me a choice there, did you?

7. When something is “new and improved!”…Which is it? If it’s new, then there has never been anything before it. If it’s an improvement, then there must have been something before it, so it couldn’t be new.

8. When people say “life is short”. What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever experiences!! What can you do that’s longer?

9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks “Has the bus come yet?”. If the bus came would I be standing here?

Cheerio folks =)

The eyes!

Posted by Dinky Mind on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in ,

A month or two ago, I was driving back home, and when I tuned the radio, I heard this very cool song.

ان آنکھوں کی مستی کے
مستانے ھزاروں ھیں

ان آنکھوں سے وابستہ
افسانے ھزاروں ھیں

The whole song is very very nice.

Today, I so much wanted to listen to this song, but, unfortunately, I don't have it. So, I tuned in the radio, and it was being played on FM 100 at that very time. Although I missed the first part of the song, but I was so delighted to hear the rest of it. =)

I wonder how people manage to write so much (and so well) about someone's eyes. Truly awesome!!

Taare Zameen Par In Pakistan

Posted by Dinky Mind on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in ,
Taare Zameen Par has been recently launched in Pakistan, and is doing a great business here.

Today, of a few clips of the TV show "Pachaas Minute" shown on Geo TV, I saw Samina Peerzada, Syed Noor and two other people who were favoring the movie and saying "Such movies educate the society and must be made by Pakistanis too". And instantly, this thought crossed my mind (especially when I saw Syed Noor),

"What if Pakistan makes such a movie, would our beloved Saima Jee perform the role of that 3rd grade kid?"

LOL!!! =)

That would be...well, not an educational movie...but a humorous one for sure! :)

Waiting for "Saima Jee Zameen Par" :p

Cheerio folks =)

Sher Afgan Niazi tortured

The images that I saw on TV today were very dreadful - broken glass pieces were being thrown at him, and people were literally beating him, pulling him, throwing him in the ambulance, and slapping! What the heck is with the people of our country? Why can't they live in peace? The "perhay likhay" lawyers proved themselves as "complete jaahils"!!!

ُُپیدا ھوئے وکیل تو شیطان نے کہا
“لو آج ھم بھی صاحب ِ اولاد ھو گئے

I hope Pakistanis learn to respect others and learn manners soon.

Cheerio folks =(
