Thanks buddies

Posted by Dinky Mind on Sunday, July 31, 2005 in ,

I thank all my blogger buddies who care for me, and who have sent these chocolates for me. Although they seem less, but I shouldn't be greedy. And am getting some more, right? < ;o)

And yes, I don't see Snickers here. Who's sending Snickers? Whoever is, please be quick. I am dying to eat themmmmm.

*unwraps chocs and eats them*

Something important: I'm not gonna offer you my chocs. I'm very possessive about 'em. So, don't look at me like that.

Cheerio folks!

Tomorrow's not a good Sunday!

Posted by Dinky Mind on Saturday, July 30, 2005 in
I've got my Admission test tomorrow at 9 am. And the reporting time in 8:30 am. Which means I have to leave my place at 7:30 am [since it takes time to go from Clifton to Gulshan]. Which then means that I have to wake up at 6:30 am. Getting up at 6:30 on a Sunday morning means ..... errr, I hate it! I mean, I decided that I will enjoy a Halwa-Puri breakfast, but what is this? *Gets out of control*

First of all, these AFK people have got some problem in publishing our results. Daily, my 20 rupees get spent on calling them and asking, "My class is N2-C. Is the result here now?". And the lady there says, "Hold on a moment please". And then that moment stretches to exactly 15 minutes. she then comes back and say,"I'm sorry. The res...." And I hang up! Enough of it now! Tomorrow's Sunday. And AFK is closed on Sundays.

Now, it's almost 1 am, but I am not in a mood of sleeping. I can't sleep! Preparation is all complete. [That's waht I think]. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Mommese, I don't wanna wakeup early tomorrow.

Okay now, before it gets really too late, I must go and sleep. *hides her face in the pillow before Mommese comes and starts chastising *

Cheerio folks.

And yeah, keep praying for me puhleeeeezzzzzzeeeeeeee..

Pain-filled tired girl!

Posted by Dinky Mind on Friday, July 29, 2005 in

Doesn't the title sound like caramel-filled chocolate candy? Hahahaha. Now the candy must be very good, but my situation is not at all good. Am all wrapped in pains and aches.
Am dead tired today.
Let me tell you what I did not do today.
It includes:
1- Did not make other ambigrams on a neat paper.
2- Nothing,
3- Nothing.

Now, if I start listing what I did today, I believe it will take me 2 days to write it all, and would take you 1 day to read and comprehend it. *urgh*
So, now am dead tired. And I still have to pray and study. OMG. *starts crying*

I need your prayers, cuz my result's not here yet. And am getting infuriated at just nothing.
I'm happy at one thing. I did not get angry at anybody. Although I should have. Hehehe. Uh, wateva!

Today I got to know what a perfect OLPM is. (If you don't know, don't ask. And those who know, please keep the secret to themselves)
Cheerio everybuddy :(

Ambigrams - Eposide 1

Posted by Dinky Mind on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 in ,

These are 18 of 27 ambigrams that I have made. Some were very hard to make, and some were relatively easy.
Anyways, start guessing! Although I know they aren't that good *makes a sad face*

Tell me:
(i) Which ambigram is very clear to read.
(ii) Which ambigram you cannot identify.
(iii) Which ambigram is most stylish.
(iv) How many ambigrams can you identify out of these 18,
(v) ( and the most important question) How many chocolates are you sending me for making these ambigrams for you? <:o)

Our lips and ears!

Posted by Dinky Mind on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in
In which we learn how to conduct our conversation.

If you your lips would keep from slips,
Five things observe with care:
Of whom you speak, to whom you speak,
And how and when and where.

If you your ears, would save from jeers,
These things keep meekly hid:
Myself and I, and mine and my,
And how I do and did.

Ullu

Posted by Dinky Mind on Monday, July 25, 2005 in ,
Yes, he's no doubt an ULLU (with all capital letters) or even much more than that. Guess what happened today. I went to my french class. We were to recieve our pre-test marks today. Okay. Happily we all entered the class. The teacher came with the papers. Had my paper on top of the pile. She came, waving the papers in air. And we tried to jump and catch a glimpse of our marks. Now, this was just a happy starting!

Now, listen! We all were kinda scrutinizing our papers, and exlaiming "Oh, no. How could I make such a mistake" on many of our stupidities. Anyways, the teacher told us that we should take care of such little grammatical mistakes. And should not make them in our final exam. Cuz in final exams she would be cutting marks on them. Okay, fine. No objection! What happened next was she asked two of our classmates, Monsieur Maqsood (am gonna tell about him later) and Monsieur Babar - the one and only ULLU of our course - to write their letters on the board, so all can see. Because, in her view, both of them wrote the best letters. (She forgot me. Errr). Monsieur Babar has a habit of speaking too much. That's the first reason I hate him. Secondly, he doesn't respect others. This is the second reason. And today he pushed my animosity for him to the topmost level. Errr... Both of the students came to the board and started writing their letters (we've got 2 boards). Then, the teacher started pointing to Mr. Maqsood's letter that see this letter. It's awesome. and blah blah blah. Although, there was nothing that special in it. Actually, we had to write a letter to our grandma, telling her about our journey in France. He wrote all what we studied in the Description of some cities of the world. He wrote a small letter, containing what Paris is and what it has (mainly geographical facts). That's it. Mr. Babar, what he did, he wrote a letter without any concluding paragraph, stating the lamest excuse that his paper had been snatched away. (You idiot, who asked you to do your work at the speed of KG kids?) Anyways, he wrote about the population of France and that FRANCE has a big port, and a very pretty beach. And that he'd visit the country next year too. But hello... France has more than one port, and more than one beach. You should have been more specific. You should have mentioned some city which has a port and which has a wonderful beach. You're an Idiot! Ufff, now the question here arises: Why did not the teacher cut his marks. Well, the teacher gave him 4/10 in this letter writing thing, and gave me 5/10 (still highest), but since ULLU is her boyfriend, she supported him and asked him, "How many marks have I given you?" He innocently said, "Just 4/10". She responded, "Oh, just 4. You should have got 8 or 9." And that man started smiling, hoping to get marks. And he succeeded in getting those 4 marks. Shit! How on earth could this happen? I mean, did anybody look at my letter??? I clearly stated where we landed in France. What did we do yesterday. I told her that we've bought a blanket for my grandma (am I not nice? ;)). And I told about the weather and the day when i will be returning, and when the other family members will be returning. I made the perfect letter, with good paragraphs. And sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.. she didn't even consider it....errrrrrr... I feel like killing her and her greatest Chamcha...that ullu Babar! Ullu had a lot of grammatical mistakes and there were so many sentences which not making sense at all. Still he got 37 out of 40. This thing just boils up my blood! After the class, I was so enraged, that me and Maheen just kept talking about our letters. And then Kiran also joined me. And there we were giving all sort of good 'alqaabaat' to both the teacher and her biggest chamcha.

Look, I don't mind if someone gets more marks than me. But the thing I mind is when that person is Duffer Babar! I had prepared a lot for this test. And I got such low marks. His pronounciation and his spelling and his sentence construction all stink!!!!! Trust me! I saw his paper. And even a blind person can rate my paper to be better than his. Ufff... I hate that man. The only thing he's good at is astrology. He can speak on it for hours and hours. One farigh banda!

Anyways, don't want to discuss him and his recent stupidity now. So, today we went to a place near Area 51. Ummmm, I guess it is known by the name of Devil's point or something else. Well, there's a wonderful seaside. Spent some time there. Khoob hawa khai. And yes, I DROVE today. Yehhhh... I mean, its too hard to drive with my brother. And today was my second driving lesson with him. He keeps on scolding. The first time I ever drove a car was with Some Desi. And the whole day, my legs were trembling like anything. My heartbeat was getting out of control. Hahaha. Cuz I drove in the narrow streets of our colony. And drove without causing any accident. Yuppy! First lesson with my brother was in a ground near Alliance Francaise, at 8:15 pm. It was hell dark there. And it was difficult. Plus, my brother chastising me to drive properly simply augmented my fear. But, today what happened, Papa just dragged me to the driving seat and said,"You have to drive. And am not gonna consider any dark, or any cold. Now, go!" . So, I had to drive! But, it was a good experience. Today, I felt I can drive. Cuz I always used to think that I wouldn't be able to drive my whole life. But, Alhamdolillah, my brother was too kind to me today. Hehehe. I know how to paddle a cycle. Am learning how to drive a car. The missing thing is I want to know how to run a motorbike. Cuz in car, I can't see the bonnet (disadvantages of having a short height) . So, I first want to clean my hands on motorbike (to have some road sense). hahahaha...isn't it the lamest excuse. Bike ride sounds fantastic.

Anyways, we came home. Then, I watched The Lizzie McGuire Movie. I've always loved the Lizzie McGuire program on Disney channel. Now, we don't have that channel on our list. Anyways, I enjoyed watching the movie. Although, it had a lot of flaws. But, it relieved some of my tension.

FINAL NOTE: I have my final French paper on coming Wednesday. And this time, I'm not gonna tolerate any injustice from my teacher's side. So, I have decided to memorise my pocket dictionary, and give a splendid test! And if (God forbid) that ullu gets more marks than me, then am surely gonna ............ punch his nose so hard that it disappears somewhere inside his face! Errrrrrrrrrr....

There you are, Talha. Howzzat?
*whisperings: what a weird ambigram!*
Well, that happens when you compress 2 years in just 20 minutes. *winks*
Tell me people, is it making sense or not? Or should I modify it? Or... why should I modify it? Talha, you should do it yourself now. I've given you the idea. (text deleted) . hahahaha

Have completed making ambigrams of Hina and Gul. They didn't ask me, but they are my friends, so I have made theirs <:o) Oh, and I have made an ambigram of Fragile Girl, too.

Now working on Saad, Saadie, Sidrat, and Biya. =)

Wish me luck!!!!

Oh, did I tell you anything about my equivalence certificate? No? Well, I finally recieved it yesterday from the Board Office Karachi. Now IBCC (Inter Board Committe of Chairmen) has opened its sub-office in Karachi, which is no doubt a very big blessing for O/A Level students of Karachi. The head office of IBCC is in Islamabad. Well, these people have equated my O/A Level grades to HSSC (Higher Scondary School Certificate) 76.45% means I have got 841 marks out of 1100. Errr... Alhamdolillah, anyway.

Havta go now.

A Letter Essential For All

Posted by Dinky Mind on Friday, July 22, 2005 in
My dear,

As you got up this morning, I watched you and hoped you would talk to me, even if it were just a few words, asking my opinion or thinking me for something good that happened in your life yesterday, but you were busy trying to find the right outfit. So, I waited, when you ran around the house getting ready, I know there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then saw you spring to your feet, I thought you wanted to talk to me, but you ran to the phone and called to friend to get the latest gossip. I watched as you went to work and I waited patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were busy to say anything to me. I noticed that before lunch you looked around, may be you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn't bow your head. You glanced over three or four tables and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn't. That's okay, there is still more time left. You went home and it seemed as if you had lot of things to do. After a few of them were done, you turned on the TV. I don't know if I like TV or not, just about anything go there and you spend a lot of time each day infront of it, not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched TV and ate your meal, but again you didn't talk to me. As you did homework, I waited again, as you did what you had to do. At bed time, I guess you felt too tired. After you said goodnight to your family, you plopped into your bed and fell asleep in no time. That's okay, because you may not realise that I am always there for you. I've got patience more than you will ever know. I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well. Becuase I love you so much. I love you so much that I wait everyday.

A prayer, or a thankful part of your heart,
It is hard to have a one sided conversation.

Well, you are getting up again and I will wait, with nothing but love for you hoping that today you will give me some time.

Have a nice day!

Your ALLAH.

[Be honest to yourself. Have you ever realised this?
Go, pray. A prayer surely relieve your tensions, solves every problem of yours. Test it yourself]

Have a blessed day.

Reading Books!

Posted by Dinky Mind on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 in
Thanks Asma, TM, and Sid for tagging me. (I'm a lazy lad, I know. Hahaha)

How I came nearer to reading:

When I was very young, around 2-3 years old, my grand father brought a book set for me. It had 4 or 5 books. And they were pretty interesting. Like, one was about animals, the other about kitchen objects, and one was about gardening tools, etc. So, it was so interesting that I almost memorised those books. (each book had 8-10 pages. So, it was pretty easy to memorise). <:o) Then, I started reading Jane and (Paul?) . I don't remember Jane's brother's name. Was it Paul or Peter? Anyways, then I was dragged to school, where I read poems like Little Miss Muffet and Over In The Meadow, and stories like Muthu, the Day Dreamer. Besides that, I'd read Jack and the bean stalk and other such stories. Then I was introduced to Enid Blyton - I'd always read her name as Gnid Blyton. Moreover, I never knew if she was a man or a woman. Hahaha. So, I'd read the series Famous Five by her. Then, I started reading Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew series. Then, I read R.L.Stine's books - Fear Street series. Then, I decided to read some factual books. *And there was a long break* Hahahaa. Well, now I have started reading Dan Brown's books. In Urdu stuff, I'd prefer reading my textbooks. Lol. But I remember reading a bunny's story book, which was awesome. I had memorised the book. It was so good. I'd also read Naunehaal. I still remember the time when my sister introduced me to the 'Hansi Ghar' section - the jokes' page. Never read Taleem-o-Tarbiat (cuz it never had new jokes in it). I have also read Inspector Jamshed series. Those books were very interesting.

Total number of books owned:
Well, haven't counted yet. There are a lot of 'em (including course books).

Last book I bought:
Deception Point by Dan Brown. (Yes, I have finally bought it. Yesterday I went to buy it).

Last book I read:
Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. (Awesome-ish book).

Five books which mean a lot to me:
~1: The Holy Quran.
~2: The World in 2020 by Hamish McRae.
~3: Parvaz by Shafiq-ur-Rehman.
~4: Digital Fortress by Dan Brown.
~5: The Book of Virtues by William J. Bennet.

My companion in reading:
Silence. Some nuts or chips. A comfortable pillow. And my attention.

I won't tag anyone. They are already tagged. And if you aren't, let me know :)

Family Problems.

Posted by Dinky Mind on Thursday, July 07, 2005 in
Two men met at a bus stop and struck up a conversation, one of them kept complaining of family problems. Finally, the other man said:

"You think you have family problems? Listen to my situation.

A few years ago, I met a young widow with a grown-up daughter. We got married and got myself a stepdaughter. Later, my father married my stepdaughter. That made my stepdaughter, my step-mother. And my father became my stepson. Also, my wife became mother-in-law of her father-in-law. Much later the daughter of my wife, my stepmother, had a son. This boy was my half-brother because he was my father's son. But he was also the son of my wife's daughter which made him my wife's grand-son. That made me the grand-father of my half-brother. This was nothing until my wife and I had a baby. Now the half-sister of my son, my stepmother, is also the Grandmother. This makes my father, the brother-in-law of my child, whose stepsister is my father's wife, I am my stepmother's brother-in-law, my wife is her own child's aunt, my son is my father's nephew and I am my OWN GRANDFATHER!

And you think you have FAMILY PROBLEMS!!!"

Beef rolls

Posted by Dinky Mind on Tuesday, July 05, 2005 in ,

Well, they aren't beef rolls, rather they are chick-peas rolls. When I made them some 2 weeks ago, I filled minced meat in them, but this time, I had boiled chick-peas, so I added some chaat masala, chopped onions, and some corriander to make it a lil spicy. And trust me, they are the most delicious chunks one can have. Lol, I don't say that, people who have tried it say that. <:o)

Am I celebrating some sort of Cooking week or what?!? ;)

Just a stupid question: Can you count how many I have made?

All good and sweet news.

Posted by Dinky Mind on Sunday, July 03, 2005 in

This is 'Sweet Lemon Pie' I made yesterday. The percentage of sweetness was very high in it (cuz sweet people make sweet dishes - Hahahahaha). Everyone liked it, though it was too heavy. One piece is still left, if you want some? :p

------------------------

And this is Some-Macaroni dish, invented by me. Well, I have to name it. It was a spicy dish. Very yummy when eaten hot. I have some of it too. Do let me know when you want some. I'll e-mail it to you. <:o)

--------------------------

Yay for Roger federer. He won his third consecutive Wimbledon title by beating Andy Roddick 6-2, 7-6 (2), 6-4. I didn't watch a second of this match. I wish I could have. Such an awesome match. Atleast, my favourite player won this time. Federer defeated the second-seeded Roddick at Wimbledon for the third year in a row, including the past two finals, and leads the rivalry 9-1. Amazinggggggggg! So, am very happy today. [Wimbledon.org not opening]

------------------------

At 9:30 p.m., I switched on the TV for NatGeo. The program " The Da Vinci code: Fact or fiction" was about to start. Finally, it started. After 30 seconds of its start, the screen went black, and then a green message appeared on it, with a picture of dish antenna on the corner, saying, "Sorry, this channel is not available in your area". You can imagine the degree to which my blood had boiled. Why, oh why the cable-wala had to put this stupid note on this very channel. [Other channels were working fine]. I felt like killing the cable wala. The whole week, I waited for this program. I completed all my work before 9:15 pm today...and look at this stupid man. What he did. Errrr...Me annoyed.

-----------------------------

My room's fan has gone nuts. It was working fine, when some moments ago, it's speed reduced to almost zero. No, no, no, no voltage problem. The pankha has got some internal problem, I guess. Its moving so slowly that you can actually count its wings. Errrr... It needs to be fixed immediately, or I'd die in this hot weather. *runs to sit in the freezer to get some coolness*

----------------------

Tomorrow I have my class. And for that, I have to study. And this tension spoils my mood. And when I am tensed, I feel very sleepy. And when I am sleepy, I become very hungry. And my hunger augments my need for french fries. But, as I told you, I feel sleepy too, so I go and sleep rather than frying chips for myself. Blahhhhhhhhhhh.

Miss V. Williams won Wimbledon!

Posted by Dinky Mind on Saturday, July 02, 2005 in

Davenport, one of the game's most graceful servants, embraced her at the net. Twelve months after her sister Serena fought off tears in defeat, Venus wept them in triumph. The prize was hers, and she could not have been happier.

No yays for her. I always wanted Davenport to win. But her (Davenport's) today's injury shattered her dream of winning the Wimbledon title. Am sad!
Venus Williams capped her career resurgence Saturday, saving a match point and outlasting Lindsay Davenport 4-6, 7-6 (4), 9-7 to win the longest women's final in Wimbledon history.
Hahaha...and you should have seen Williams when she won the championship point. Haha...I can't stop myself from laughing. She was jumping like a monkey who had been released by the zoo. She was literally jumping and screaming. That was a scene to be watched. Hahaa. Okay, I agree, she won the most prestigious grand slam title, the Wimbledon, but she shouldn't have acted this way. Today, she won the Wimbledon title for the 3rd time. But she was so excited as if she has won it for the first time and at the age of 12. Uh! Last year, when Maria Sharapova (Rus.) won the title (by beating Serena Williams), she wasn't acting in such a strange way as V. Williams did today. She's crazy. She was hopping round the court. The photographers were also like, "Enough now! Please go. We don't have more film rolls." Hahaha... I'm serious. The photographers had such annoyed expressions on their faces. She was giving many two-metres long smiles. Gosh! Even Venus's dad had 2 cameras. Lol at her whole family. Her mom...well, no comments. Hahahaa...And Serena Williams. Guess what, my Mom was like, "Serena is looking better than her sister today". And I had to agree her, cuz Serena was not 'soaked in sweat', and she had her hair neatly brushed, and not like that thin braid as of Venus'. One thing else I noticed. Today, Venus wasn't wearing any sort of jewellery (well, just a coined-shaped ring). I mean, she'd wear jumbo sized earrings, and one million neclaces. But today, it was so different. She wasn't looking like herself. Hahahaha. But one thing. Today's match was awesome. Both the players were from America, but still Davenport should have won. ;) (I won't stop saying that).
And tomorrow's Men's Singles Final. (1)Roger Federer(SWI) against (2)Andy Roddick (USA). Both are my favourites. But again, Federer will win. I'm with you Roger!

Even the Australia - England cricket match is going good. England has one wicket in hand and needs 8 runs and has got just 6 balls. Means an over. Let's see who wins. Probably Australia. Maybe England. Will tell you after some minutes.
*comes after 3 minutes*
England needs 3 runs to win from 1 ball.
*goes again to watch*
...................
*comes back*
Aay lo. Match tied! This is cheating. One of the teams should have won. urgh! Anyways, I am happy. Both were my (kind of) favourite teams.
